Le thème retenu par la communauté internationale pour cette année est : «Prendre le leadership. Stop Sida. Tenir ses promesses».
A l'occasion de la Journée Internationale de la lutte contre le Sida, la République Démocratique du Congo s'associant avec toutes les nations du monde entier a célébré, hier lundi 1 décembre 2008, la 20ème Journée Mondiale du Sida (JMS). Le thème retenu par la communauté internationale pour cette année est : «Prendre le leadership. Stop Sida. Tenir ses promesses».
En ce 1er décembre, comme chaque année, c'est la journée mondiale de lutte contre le sida. A ce jour, plus de 33 millions de personnes sont séropositives ou malades du sida dans le monde. En France, comme le dit la dernière campagne d'informations : une personne découvre toutes les heures et demie qu'elle est contaminée. Dire Stop au sida, c'est le mot d'ordre de cette journée. François Fillon s'est prononcé pour une diffusion large du préservatif à 20 centimes d'euros pour mieux prévenir le virus tandis que Nicolas Sarkozy a promis des moyens nécessaires pour lutter contre ce fléau.
